Hi, I'm Jennifer
welcome to my COS support
I am passionate about building a better, more inclusive Australia for people with disabilities. Supporting people to live the life they imagined for themselves, to strive for what they want, how they want to live, and how they want to be supported.
I love to inspire, be creative and find ways to assist my clients to live an extra-ordinary life that is fulfilling, happy and above all else, a life of choice using their NDIS funded supports and services.
As an expert in all things NDIS with over 8 years' experience in the NDIS space and over 20 years' experience in disability and community services;
-
Disability Advocate (NDIS Specialist) Disability Advocacy NSW
-
Local Area Coordinator
-
Support Coordinator
-
Art Therapy Practitioner
I know the demands on navigating the NDIS have never been greater or more complex. Due to this my COS support was founded with the conviction that participants not only needed a simpler avenue to get the most out of their NDIS Plan, but also deserved to have an easier way to access excellent support to do so.
I have an established reputation as a proactive, strong network builder with quality providers who work tirelessly with participants. A Support Coordinator who is committed to the Person-Centered model of care.
As a local member of your community, I am committed to use my local knowledge and networks to help find the best options suitable for you.
About Fiona
Support Coordinator /Psychosocial Recovery Coach
Social & Community Support Specialist
Hi, I’m Fiona
My disability career commenced as a Local Area Coordinator for the NDIS, and then as a Coordinator of Supports for a local disability service provider.
I then moved into Aged Care as a Community Services Manager where my team assisted the elderly to remain living independently in their own homes, but my heart has, and always be, in disability.
My journey in disability began over 21 years ago when I welcomed my son into this world. Like most parents, I had my son’s life mapped out before he was even born. However, at 11 months old, my son was delayed in sitting up, and that was the commencement of early intervention and an impending diagnosis of Intellectual Disability and Autism.
I was suddenly thrown into a different way of life – well, different to what I had planned! Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Pediatricians, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Behaviour Therapists and Speech Therapists, just to name a few! As daunting and overwhelming as this was, it was my ‘new normal’, and led me to a career in disability.
My son has taught me so much – how to appreciate what most of us perceive to be the little things in life; and that I had a voice. I was my son’s advocate; I was his voice when he was too young to have his own. From there, assisting others to live their best lives, and to achieve their goals is where I found my passion.
